No two trees, or any other creation of God's are alike. Our Creator loves diversity. No two snowflakes are a match, each flower is different from any other, and no two humans are exactly the same as we were all created to be our own self, our own separate being. A gift beyond compare that can evoke only one response, gratitude.

Just as the two trees are presenting their uniqueness below we as well have seasons in our lives.

All trees grow and search for the Light,
looking for the Sun that causes all growth to happen.

Out of a rock in the high desert
a seed deposited itself where it was intended to be.
Flourishing and gaining height for some thirty years,
it enjoyed life and the cycles of life each Season gave.

On a year that brought no rain
the tree withered, yet stood for many decades
in the hot sun and in the frigid nights.

Still it reached up to the sky
as a gesture of gratitude for having had life.

Winter.

In the dead of night the rain that coats everything came.
Every branch in the vast forest was given a special garment,
a covering of diamonds that sparkled in the moonlight.
Come morning, if awake early enough,
before the sun melts the coating of ice everywhere
one can dress warmly, go outdoors,
and see what the Artist painted while we slept.
