Thinking of Trees

A few thoughts on trees -

Douglas Firs sit on the edge of the Grand Canyon,
a lofty precipice two thousand feet
straight down from this spot.
Life clings to whatever foothold it can find,
and knows security in seemingly precarious places.

Growth for trees, and for us, is always possible,
we only have to stand on Holy Ground
and plant our roots in the nourishing soil underneath.

Trees have learned to stand in life's storms
holding on to the Gift of life.
A lesson to be seen and planted in our heart
to be accessed whenever needed.

The words of trees are critical,
 though they may be mute.

It's their dignity and their worth that I sense.

they have heard the Song of the Song Master,

whose lyrics they will sing to me,

whenever I walk into the Gift of Creation's

always Present Moment.

Peace and joy in the Gift of being fully alive,
