- Looking for Beauty -

Your courage will arise
if you call it by name, just as love
will find its way into your heart, in time.
My child, I cannot shoulder your mistakes
in order to keep you free from pain,
but I can open your eyes to beauty,
if you will only take the time.

                                                     Nancy Wood

Look closely at the eagle,
She is your eyes, looking for beauty.

--------------

While looking for a tiger in the wilds of Manhattan,
I found none who lived there recently.
While looking for a tiger in Freedom Maine,
I found one who, tired of roaring and bellowing
turned herself into a stunning flower.
Now, free from fear filled eyes,
she stops all who cross her path
as they admire her beauty.

Wisdom, found in the later stages of life in the silent corridors of a heart that has reached the place where, through the journey of years one has traveled to the understanding  of what is important and what is not.

Having planted one's roots deep into the earth, nourished by virtue, the embracing of a higher set of moral standards, we can then begin to travel on The Journey of Quiet Knowing. The actions that led to success and growth become distant memories as we see the futility of traveling in endless circles to the end of our days.

Like the old tree we have become sure of each changing Season of life to a point where each of the Seasons are looked forward to with wonder filled expectation. The dread of change is no more as we have somehow arrived to know the moment at hand, that this present moment is what truly maters.

------------------------------------------

Fences are of a dual nature in their being,
perhaps to keep something in,
perhaps to keep something out.

Wisdom does not say
"Don't fence me in."
But rather,
"I no longer have any need for fences."

The heart becomes open, doors flung wide,
and everyone is welcome to enter
and find that find love and compassion live here.

(On our recent trip which started here in the Grand Tetons we saw a different reason for the fences in this photo, they were erected to keep the free range buffalo out. We had a small herd of around forty buffalo pass twenty feet from us  as they happily ate grass at this spot. There were no fences separating us and there wasn't any fear on our part or the animals. A wonder filled moment.)

On this day of days, this night of nights,
we honor you, our Mother of beauty
and patience, who holds the light of
generations between Her hands.

The morning sun rises over the landscape
spreading its gold on every surface that
gently reflects the birth of another special day.

If we live our day as if it were the first day of our life,
and, as if it were the last day of our life,
It will be a good day.
                                                  Bill L,

The Tao runs deep and lovely
without boundaries, it is everywhere,
and it is nowhere.
If sought it cannot be found in the world
or in the seas and oceans depths ...

Its home is only in the human heart.
It is the river of God's Spirit that flows in every breast,
found by believer and non-believer alike
in this Present Moment,
and in this Present Moment.
