I am told the creatures of the forest
see the colors of trees and plants differently.
Every once in a while we get the opportunity
to use the eyes of an eagle, or perhaps an insect,
offering a much different view of the woods.

The Gift here is a simple one,
we can see through the eyes of another
if we listen to the insights offered.
Sight and insight,
the difference between just looking
 and really understanding.

As we grow older and taller wisdom slowly enters,
then we can take the time to pause at days end
and enjoy the sun's wondrous setting.
Taking time is the prerogative of wisdom,
an entitlement we learn to claim as ours.
Look to the trees they will teach you.

Not stopping at late afternoon's tranquility
may be a sin we will eventually have to answer for.
Best to take a moment or more to cease endless busyness
at this point in life and avoid messy answers later.

"Harry it's Friday!
Today is wings not tutu skirts.
Sorry baby but you have to learn how to dress!"
